I originally started on Twitter defending Gavin because I really thought he started the proud boys as a joke and wasn’t the leader of it. I genuinely love comedy at every form, but that’s not comedy? He’s giving speeches to other grown men about not jerking off and western values… it’s so absurd, I get his message but it’s being taken to a different level. Here’s where I disagree with jeselnicks statement, first off he makes just as edgy of jokes. Second he is confused between the difference in giving someone a platform and people just picking guys who will bring the most entertainment, they don’t care about his outside views matching theirs. He’s an interesting personality and backstory, and is so good at comedy on podcasts I thought on the skanks he was just a comic now. Also don’t get me wrong I’ll defend anyone’s right to say anything they want even if I don’t like their work or what they say. But also give me my right to mock it if it’s crazy

You don’t get to say what comedy is and isn’t. I always take it as satire

Gavin’s proud boys aren’t a joke. I don’t support BLM stop acting there’s only two sides to a view point?

The proud boys was a joke that became serious. But even in it’s serious group Stage it had an underlying joke to it.

That would be like saying if Luis tells a Jews are evil joke and then goes on to say that Jews do have some real problems within their community the joke is no longer funny and not a joke

I do agree with Anthony’s point about the cult of personality. Fans are simple and rabid at their worst, they will like, do, and agree with anything Luis says. And they take everything very personally. The art form loses it’s creditability when you can’t make criticisms and many fans will stomp someones neck for even inkling that something might be bad or god forbid SUCK.

It can’t be serious and an underlining joke, that would make it not a joke. They actively believe this stuff. I think it’s actually as simple as this, they’ve had ultra feminist who participated in marches protests etc. but make “jokes” about feminism and anti men but is clearly not based by their actions, like corrine would be the main one. But no one wants to say their feminist because I they have them on. He was wrong for calling the skanks hateful but I agree Gavin is deep down a hateful person and not joking about some stuff. But he has his right to say it and I’ll never try to get him kicked off air or the proud boys labeled as terrorist
